ELIX PolymersELIX ABS HH 3110 by ELIX Polymers has become the first ABS resin to earn RecyClass Technology Approval.
ELIX Polymers’ high-performance ABS resin, enhanced with poly(styrene-co-maleimide), is known for its exceptional heat resistance, making it ideal for demanding applications. It is widely used in automotive exterior parts such as tail-light housings and spoilers, as well as interior components including center console trims, door panels, and dashboards. Following extensive testing by a third-party organization under the Recyclability Evaluation Protocol for Automotive and EEE Resins, ELIX ABS HH 3110 has been officially certified as fully compatible with the ABS recycling stream for both automotive and electronic applications.
Based on its strong performance during testing, the material has now been adopted as a control material for the RecyClass Recyclability Evaluation Protocol for ABS plastic components. This marks a step toward establishing reliable, proven benchmarks for assessing the recyclability of ABS materials, helping stakeholders across related industries make science-based material choices and improve recycling compatibility.
